Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Beyond Borders (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit beyondborders.com.sa and its subdomains (blog.beyondborders.com.sa and tech.beyondborders.com.sa), or when you contact us. We follow the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and its implementing regulations.

Who we are

Beyond Borders is based at 20, 3rd Floor, Salah ud Din Ayubi Road, King Abdul Aziz District, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (RHAA7644). For any privacy question or request, email tech@beyondborders.com.sa.

What we collect

Information you give us. If you email, call or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us about your enquiry.

Website usage data. Only if you allow it through our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to collect:

the pages you visit, how long you stay and how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or an ad)
your device type, browser, operating system and screen size
your approximate location (city or country), derived from your IP address
a random identifier stored in a cookie so repeat visits can be recognised

We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not sell it.

Why we use it

To respond to enquiries and provide the services you ask about. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering you.
To understand and improve the website, such as which pages are useful and where people get stuck. We only do this with your consent.
To measure our marketing, such as whether an advertising campaign led to visits. We only do this with your consent.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. We group them as follows:

Essential. These are needed for the site to work and are always on. The only one we set is bb_consent, which remembers your cookie choice for 180 days.
Analytics (Google Analytics, for example _ga and _ga_*, kept for up to 2 years). These are set only if you allow analytics.
Marketing (Google advertising cookies, for example _gcl_au, kept for up to 90 days). These are set only if you allow marketing.

Until you make a choice, no analytics or marketing cookies are set. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.

We use Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) to process website usage data on our behalf. Google may process this data on servers outside Saudi Arabia, including in the United States. You can read more in Google’s explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services.

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a government authority. We do not otherwise share your data with third parties.

How long we keep it

Enquiries (emails and messages) are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and any resulting work, and then deleted unless we are legally required to keep them.
Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under the PDPL you have the right to:

be told how your personal data is collected and used (this policy)
get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
ask us to delete data we no longer need
withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email tech@beyondborders.com.sa. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA).

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will ask for your cookie consent again.
